The Magick Host by Jacquie Alanna Gallo

The Magick Host - Jacquie Alanna Gallo
This is a debut novel that gives a twist to the tale of magic (with a k) and vampires. It revolves around a trio of twenty-somethings and what happens to make their lives more interesting and infinitely more dangerous.

There is not a lot of explanation about why Skye/Eli can do the things he can, or even a lot of detail about how and why Eli was killed previously, but still this story will take you along. It is a slow burner but stick with it because it certainly heats up as things progress.

I really enjoyed this book even though I wasn't sure about it, even when I was about a third of the way through. There are some editing issues where characters are called by the wrong name which does interrupt the flow, but on the whole, it is very enjoyable and definitely worth a read and a review.
