Willpower (Psychic Crossroads #1) by Anna Durand
Willpower is the first in a two-part series called Psychic Crossroads. The reason for the name, of both the book and the series, becomes obvious as you read through. Grace is alone in the world, struggling to make ends meet. Her parents died in a car crash a few months earlier, then her grandfather. To top it off, she can't actually remember the past few months, and has serious migraines to contend with, that no doctor seems to have the answer for. Her life takes a strange turn one evening when she is approached by a 'madman' who warns her that "they are looking for you". This opens a can of worms that she wasn't expecting in the slightest.
I would say that Willpower is definitely more of a thriller than romance, so if that's what you're looking for, you're out of luck. Also, it is a slow-burner so don't expect instantaneous answers. There are lots of different situations and characters to contend with, which can get a bit confusing and skippy at times. This is a good story which comes to a natural ending, whilst still leading on to book two.
