Happy birthday, Elizabeth Gilbert! The author of Eat, Pray, Love discovered her love of reading and writing while growing up on a small Christmas tree farm in Litchfield, Connecticut. Her family did not own a television or a record player, so Gilbert and her sister entertained themselves with books and plays.
